Applicant must possess a valid photo identification issued by the state or federal government with a valid expiration date, (driver's license or U.S. Passport)

Applicant must register with the NJ State Police to obtain a 30 day Temporary Security Officer Certificate. Click on this link to the New Jersey State Police site to the SORA application/registration page:https://eapps.njsp.org/applicant/logon.do
Click on FIRST TIME APPLICANT (If applying for initial certification) and select Security Officer Certification as the TYPE OF APPLICATION.
Create a logon ID and a password and complete the registration. When the registration is completed a $75.00 fee is payable to the NJSP. (remember your logon ID and password, you will need both when you log back on as a RETURNING APPLICANT)
Print out a copy of the Temporary Security Officer Certificate and the fingerprint form.
The Temporary certificate allows you to work immediately and is valid for only 30 days. Now, the clock starts ticking…….you only have 30 days to complete your training and get fingerprinted.
